A sixteen-year-old pole dancing would probably anger most
parents. But Billy Ray Cyrus doesn’t seem to have any problem with his daughter Miley Cyrus’s pole dance routine at the Teen Choice Awards earlier this month.

Billy Ray told Access Hollywood, "You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing [and] songwriting."

Sounds like Billy Ray is trying to avoid the subject at hand! No one can deny that Miley loves to entertain, but a 16-year old swinging around on a pole in front of millions of viewers is quite another thing.

Despite the negative reaction from the public, Billy Ray continues to stick by his daughter’s side. He continued, "I always tell her to love what you're doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion.”

"I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice.”

Has Billy Ray not learned anything from Jamie Spears and Michael Lohan?! Those are two showbiz dads who allowed their daughters to make their “own decisions” for years. And look at what happened to both Britney and Lindsay!

Medical Records, Billing Info Key to Michael Jackson Case

Myriad questions and numerous individuals are at the center of the Michael Jackson investigation, but there may be one central key to uncovering the truth.

Drs. Conrad Murray, Arnold Klein, Allan Metzger and others have come under suspicion as officials try to determine who supplied and administered the anesthesia Propofol and other drugs to the late star. But details so far have been sketchy.

When dealing with celebrities, some doctors use pseudonyms for patients and sometimes their medical records and charts mysteriously get "lost."

But TMZ reports that most doctors leave one indelible footprint when it comes to treating their patients, and it all starts with billing information.

Many doctors use medical software systems from MD Systems, NexTech and others. These companies provide software in which doctors input billing data.

Doctors typically input the patient's name, billing amount, the type of treatment, type of drugs prescribed and administered, and the date of service.

The clincher? That data cannot be deleted from the server.

The system allows doctors to add other data like medical charts, which can be deleted. But if someone deletes data, the software shows the name of the user who did it in addition to the date it took place. Basic billing information will not go away.

The police found Propofol - a powerful anesthesia that should never be outside a hospital - in Jackson's house. If cops find who supplied and administered it, the doctor(s) could face very serious questions and possibly even criminal charges.

Hilary Duff to Guest Star on Gossip Girl

Is the Upper East Side ready for more star power? We'll find out as Hilary Duff is coming to Gossip Girl for a guest role this fall, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The actress-designer-pop singer will play Olivia Burke, a movie star (typecasting lives) who enrolls at NYU in search of the traditional college experience.

Her character will room with the unpopular Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) at the college. Duff will debut in this season's fourth episode, slated to air October 5.

Gossip Girl producers spotted an opening in Duff's schedule after NBC passed on her comedy pilot Barely Legal. She was to play a lawyer in it, of course.

Michael Jackson Will Surfaces; Estate in Court

Michael Jackson's lawyer has a copy of the late singer's will and he intends to file it with the court, according to a report this afternoon on TMZ.

The Jackson family doesn't have a copy of the will, which is currently in possession of attorney John Branca. It's unclear how many wills Michael Jackson made out and when, but Branca believes he's looking at the most current.

Branca says he has a signed will by Michael Jackson that he intends to file within 30 days. It is unclear at this time what Jackson's will might say.

John Branca has a long history with Jackson, having brokered the singer's famous deal for Jackson to purchase The Beatles' publishing catalogue in 1985.

Branca and Jackson stopped working together in 2006, but interestingly, he was re-hired just weeks ago. Michael died Thursday of cardiac arrest.

So far, the confirmed autopsy results are unclear as to the cause. The leaked autopsy results from earlier today are apparently completely fabricated.

Meanwhile, initial papers have been filed with the court to probate Michael Jackson's estate, and it seems Jackson's mom and dad don't know Michael had a will.

The petition was filed by Michael's parents, Joe and Katherine Jackson, who also filed a petition to obtain guardianship of Michael's children in court today.

But the odd thing regarding the will is that the Jacksons filed the papers saying the music icon died "intestate" - or in layman's terms, without a will.

The petition asks that Katherine Jackson be named as administrator of the will, meaning she wants to call the shots (and receive a commission, most likely).

The papers say Debbie Rowe, the mother of Michael's two older children, Michael Jr. (Prince I) and Paris, will be served with notice of a hearing.

Chris Brown Accepts Plea Deal, Avoids Jail Time

Chris Brown has copped a plea bargain in his assault and criminal threats case and will not serve time in jail, as per an agreement reached just moments ago.

Rihanna was in court today but the plea was announced before the preliminary hearing even took place, so she did not testify. The details on Brown's deal:

* Chris Brown will spend 180 days in a labor diversion program in Virginia, where he lives. This is a step tougher community service - Brown must do regimented, hard labor (like highway cleanup) during that time, but may live at home.
* He will work eight hours a day during that span (1,440 hours total).
* He received five years probation for felony assault. He must return to court every three months for a status report during those five years. If Brown in any way violates probation, he could get up to four years in prison.
* He must enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.
* He must stay completely clear from Rihanna at all times. If they are at the same public events, he still must keep 10 yards' distance.
* As Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to the felony assault charge, he is a convicted felon who loses the right to vote or carry a gun.

The judge presiding over the case said she wanted to make sure Chris Brown "was treated as any other person who comes through this court."

Adam Cook Passes Away

Following a decade-long battle with cancer, David Cook's brother, Adam, died yesterday.

The American Idol winner made the difficult announced this morning, prior to the Race for Hope 5K in Washington, D.C.

"I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else right now," Cook told the crowd at the brain cancer research benefit, at which Cook served as the grand marshal and competitor, as his team had raised more than $40,000.

Adam Cook had battled the disease throughout Cook's American Idol run last year.

Rihanna: Not Touring, Just Boating

Madonna spent time in a Long Island hospital this weekend following a fall off a horse that her publicist blames on reporters.

The 50-year-old pop singer, who is still hoping to adopt a girl from Malawi, was released after being treated for "minor injuries and bruises" at a Southampton hospital, said Rosenberg.

The Octomom, Nadya Suleman, has faced numerous critics over the last few months. It would be challenging to find an individual that is not disgusted by the selfish, fame-driven new mother of eight babies.

Now, though, the mentally unbalanced Angelina Jolie wannabe has really crossed the line: she's pissed off Kim Kardashian.

In a recent blog entry, the self-described fashion icon calls out Suleman for copying her look.

"Why is Octomom wearing my Jimmy Choo sunglasses!?" Kardashian asks. "I think it's a little ridiculous that she claims she has no money and is on welfare to take care of her 14 children, yet she is out shopping and buying Jimmy Choo sunglasses... I guess she'd rather spend her octo-dollars on accessories. Aren't 14 accessories enough, Octomom??"

The hideous sunglasses in question cost approximately $300... if you purchase the original pair.

However, Target does offer a version that costs $16.99. Kardashian might wanna do some research before launching into her next tirade.

While we find Suleman to be a pathetic, attention-seeking individual, it's hard to side with someone that labels Jimmy Choo as her sunglasses. We didn't know you patented those, Kim.

Taylor Swift: No Regrets!

While the singer/songwriter has come under fire for writing "Forever and Always" about her breakup with Joe Jonas, she tells the new issue of Seventeen that she had no choice.

Chris Brown-Rihanna Duet is Not Happening

There is no Rihanna-Chris Brown duet being recorded by the stars despite previous reports that the pair had recorded a song together, a label source confirms.

"Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a new duet after the incident," the source told People, alluding to Chris Brown's alleged assault of his girlfriend before the Grammy Awards on February 8.

Conflicting reports about the couple's supposed duet may have arisen because of a standard practice used during the development of new material. Last year, Brown and producer Polow da Don did write a song together, the source says.

"Around August or September of 2008, Chris and Rihanna's vocals were recorded as the reference vocals for this demo only. [But] the song was never conceived or intended to be a duet between them, and was later recorded by other artists."

Reference vocals are created to indicate how the writer intends a song to be sung on demo tracks sent out to other artists before the final recording process.

Turns out, the song was called "Bad Girl" - with lyrics focused on a woman who spends too much on designer goods – and was recorded by the someone else (The Pussycat Dolls) and is featured on the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack.

However, the reference vocals for the song made by Rihanna also leaked to the Internet in January. More confusion may also have been caused by the fact that Brown and Rihanna did record a duet last year called "Stronger."

This was meant for Rihanna's album, but was never released. Brown, who faces assault and criminal threats charges, is said to have been in the recording studio since the attack, but has not worked with Rihanna on any songs.

They may not be recording, but they are definitely on the same track relationship wise. With Brown's arraignment set for April 6, lawyers for both stars are attempting to get Rihanna off the hook as far as testifying against her man.

The primary problem for authorities - the thief was wearing a mask, gloves, and a hooded sweatshirt. Cops still don't have a suspect in the case.

Of the break-in, the moral-less heiress told Life & Style:

“I am devastated. I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace.”

"Tara Reid has checked herself into Promises Treatment Center. We appreciate your respect to her and her family's privacy at this time," the actress' rep, Jack Ketsoyan, said of his client's decision to enter rehab.

A friend of the Reid's wouldn't specify the problem at hand, but said the actress headed to the treatment facility on Tuesday.

"Her friends and family are supportive of her decision. She checked in herself – it was her decision."

Taco Bell is going for the whole enchilada in defending itself from a suit filed by 50 Cent, claiming the rapper's tough-talking $4 million lawsuit (alleging trademark infringement) from earlier this summer was nothing but a publicity stunt.

The fast food chain definitely answered the legal Bell, so to speak, in its attempt to straight up dome Fiddy when it comes to his credibility.

The Bell attacked 50 as a gentleman whose work "falls in the sub-genre of hip hop music known as 'gangsta rap,' a style associated with urban street gangs and characterized by violent, tough-talking braggadocio." Or something.

The Taco peeps also claim Fiddy only filed the lawsuit to "burnish his gangsta persona." Not sure how suing Taco Bell would do that, but whatever you say.

50 Cent sued over Taco Bell's promotional campaign where they offered to give $10,000 to charity if the rapper would change his name to 79, 89 or 99 Cent.

His lawyer tells us "Taco Bell needs to be stopped" and that "Mr. Cent intends to vigorously pursue this case." Seriously, he referred to him as Mr. Cent.

You know what they say: Mo' money mo' problems. Combined this with his many lawsuits against Shaniqua Tompkins and Fiddy has his legal hands full.
